Kerry Novak
February 16, 1972 – March 31, 2026
Kerry Novak, of Sayville, died on March 31, 2026. She was 54. She was born Kerry Margaret Walsh on February 16, 1972 and was raised in the town of East Islip, Long Island, NY. While studying to obtain a bachelor of science and nursing at Molloy College, she met Brian Novak, a law student, on July 17, 1993. Brian and Kerry were married on Long Island on September 3, 1994, and welcomed two sons into their life, Brian Novak Jr. and Jack Novak.
While obtaining her nursing degree, Kerry would go on instead to become a successful business woman. Kerry founded an internet startup that would go on to make the Inc 500 in 2004. Kerry would continue on to each successful enterprise, one after another, mentoring her two sons along the way.
Through her remarkable strength and grace, Kerry survived and often thrived despite her lengthy illness, leading a life full of adventure, living on the Great South Bay, as well as boating there and in Sag Harbor, Shelter Island, and out to Martha’s Vineyard and beyond.
Kerry lived life to the fullest…whether flying to Palm Beach on the weekends in the winter or watching, from her owner’s box, her stable of thoroughbreds compete at Belmont, Aqueduct, and her favorite track…Saratoga.
With the help of her family, and her indomitable spirit, Kerry traveled around the world obtaining every possible medical therapy, insisting on exploring Ireland, Paris, Brussels, and Switzerland on the way to and from Germany where the treatment took place.
By doing so, Kerry beat the odds…and was then able to see her eldest son Brian Jr.’s wedding to Hayley Mann on September 1, 2023. On November 7, 2025 Kerry welcomed in her first grandchild Dylan Novak…enabling her legacy to carry on.
Kerry is survived by her loving spouse, two children, grandson, parents (Alicia & James Walsh), siblings (Sean, Maureen, & James), and her father & mother-in-law (Robert & Cathleen Novak).
